This Sunday, Friends of Dance brings a dancer from the Richmond, VA community to UMW. Scott Putman is an Associate Professor in dance and choreography at Virginia Commonwealth University, and the founder and Artistic Director of Amaranth Contemporary Dance. His creation of the Elemental Body Alignment System (EBAS) is a series of exercises designed to activate intrinsic musculature for greater structural and kinetic efficiency, which he utilizes in his choreography and teaching techniques.
Students can expect a 1.5 hour class of technical training and strength building to improve the dancer's body as it moves through space.
